Who Are We?
Hogar Creativo is a Spanish company managed by Belgian owners. You’ll find us as at the Costa del Sol, in the centre of Frigiliana which is part of the Axarquía region in Andalucía.
We’re a small company en we choose resolutely for personal service and creativity in the building process. For this reason we named our business ‘Hogar Creativo’ which means as much as ‘a creative house where you feel at home’.
PATRICIA DE DONDER - Architect
 Born in 1973 in Mechelen, Belgium
Graduated at the St-Lucas Academy in Brussels in 1996
Had her own architectural office in Zemst for 5 years
Employed as a project manager and calculator at De Meyer in Gent (former Structon) for 2 years
Active in Spain as an architect since January 2004
Architecture at a human scale!
A house is more than a combination of surfaces and lines which have to look nice. In the first place I start puzzling and connecting rooms which results practical for the client. I always keep in mind the orientation, the natural daylight, the use of materials and the ultimate use of the rooms. Design does not prevail over functionality, they always go together. My challenge is designing comfortable and cosy houses where people feel at home.

GEERT GROMMEN – designer/ executor
 Born in 1969 in Tongeren, Belgium
Graduated at the Social Academy for Social and Pedagogic Studies in Gent in 1993 Active in the social sector for 10 years: recruitment and selection companies, Human Resources Department Volvo, Editor at Coprogram (development aid),… Became involved in construction and decoration: decorator in a fairytale theme park in Bredene, rebuilt of various houses in Gent, designed and executed different mosaic projects and interiors of houses in Flandres.
Active in Spain as a project manager since January 2004 – designer/ executor of special bathrooms and kitchen units.
Funcional Organic design
Creativity plays a key role in every stage of the project: in design, in the use of colours and of course in the functionality of every concept. Little by little I developed a preference for the implementation of round curves and shapes and the use of soft saturated natural colours which easily survive the changes in fashion.
Functionality and aesthetics always go together, there is no hierachy between them, on the contrary they behave like partners. Another great challenge in my discipline is being creative with space. Most of the time I’m working in bathrooms, so measure work on the spot is usually the only solution to utilize optimal the limited space I have.
So, ‘functional organic design’ forms the base for every concept that carries the name ‘ESTILO GERARDO’...
